Is the wine well dry?

What a shame, my enjoyment of wine has felt a major decrease in the past month. I finally realized that at my young age wine is expensive. So a budget has severly limited what I can buy and drink. No fear, I will still be having a bottle every week and will try to keep up with these posts.

A Cab for All Seasons

Alright, the title is a bit overdramatic, but that's how wine drinkers do it. I finished up a bottle of cabernet sauvignon from Kunde, vintage 2000. I enjoyed it, of course, but overall was not impressed. You see, I found it at my favorite wine shop and got a great deal. They had it on a buyers special for half price, which was about what I would normally spend.

While I was sipping on this nectar, I was starting to read a book I found at my public library about wines of the world. I'm the first to admit that I don't know that much about wine, so I am on a quest to fill my head with knowledge while I fill my belly with vino.

Here's to the wine we drink,
only red,
not pink.

Scotch is good too....

Although my love for wine has grown over the past year or so, I still enjoy a few glasses of scotch every now and then. One of my favorite scotches is called Isla of Jura. Its a great scotch at a resonable price. Although some internet sites price it at over $30, I find it for about $25. My favorite place to find booze, Binny's, sometimes has it on sale for $16. For that price you can't beat it. It's a big bodied scotch with a fresh peatiness. Isle of Jura has become one of my favorites.

Wine of the Month Club

I thinking about joining a wine of the month club. I've heard there's a bunch ou there, but didn't know for sure. So, I decided to look into it and started with what else, a google search. On a side note, if your looking to purchase a product or service, check out the sponsored links first on Google, they tend to be the best targeted results.

Back to the wine of the month club. I'm looking for any suggestions, so feel free to comment. It looks like the going rate is around $30-40 a month. Not a bad price for 2 to 4 bottles of wine. I'll post more info after I do little more research.
